Verify a certificate

Received writing with a Prove Human certificate? Paste the text below to confirm it is exactly what was certified. Add the code if you have it.

Spacing and line breaks don’t matter. Any change to the words does.

How verification works

When a writer certifies a document, Prove Human seals a fingerprint of the exact final text together with the writing record that produced it. When you paste the text here, we fingerprint it the same way and look for a matching certificate. A match means the text is exactly what was certified, word for word. Spacing, line breaks, and curly versus straight quotes are ignored, so text copied through email or a web page still matches. If any word or punctuation mark was changed after certifying, it won’t.

What a match tells you

  • The text was written in the Prove Human editor, and its full history was recorded as it was typed
  • When it was written, over how many sessions, and how much was typed versus pasted
  • Any AI help the writer chose to disclose

A certificate is strong evidence of a human writing process, not absolute proof. See the FAQ for what Prove Human can and can’t detect.

No match?

Check that you pasted the complete text, with nothing added or left out, such as a title, name, or signature that wasn’t part of the certified document. If it still doesn’t match, ask the writer for their certificate link or code and compare.
